This pretty little lady with the incredibly beautiful smile is Roxy! She's a Terrier Mix who's almost a year old, spayed, current on her vaccinations, house trained & crate trained and sleeps through the night in her crate. She gets along very well with dogs, is a little too interested in cats and loves children! When Roxy was rescued from Animal Control, she was so scared she wouldn't leave her cage. Her Foster Family has been working with her, gaining her confidence, building her trust in people and she's come really far!
Roxy is a total cuddle bug and believes having at least 2 cuddle sessions a day, plus plenty of ear scratches, is what a young girl like her needs! She's sweet & affectionate and doesn't hold back with her kisses, she gives a lot of them, and they're always appreciated! Roxy has a close bond with her Foster Mom and enjoys being near her. If she can't find her in the house, she'll try to get outside through the cat door to find her, which is funny to watch but also so sweet! This pretty pup likes to sleep next to her & relax, which shows her trust, and that touches her Foster Mom deeply. And, when her six year old daughter was upset & crying, Roxy was right there, kissing away her tears and making her laugh. Loving her is easy, especially when she flashes her big, happy smile or when one of her adorable ears flops over while the other is sticks straight up! She's a very pretty girl with pink ears and a beautiful black patch around her right eye & ear, which just adds to her personality!
Roxy is a fun, playful girl who loves to play almost as much as she loves to cuddle! She has a blast playing with other dogs, especially the dogs at daycare and her Foster Family's dog. They run around the yard, chase balls and it's fun to watch her play because she enjoys it so much! This frisky gal loves all toys but her favorite toy is her Foster Mom's slipper, she'll grab it any chance she has! She's a lot of fun to be around and would be very happy with a Forever Family or Person who likes to hike or run and we think she might excel in agility. She learned how to swim this summer and is having a lot of fun in the pool at her Foster Home! When it's time to relax, she likes to chew on treats, especially ice cubes and cheese, then snuggle with her people or another dog.
Roxy wants to make sure everyone knows she's not just pretty, she's also very smart! She would benefit greatly from training & basic obedience classes as she needs to learn some manners. When she goes outside to potty, it's best if someone goes with her to make sure she's doing her business and not playing. She has a tendency to pay too much attention to the cat in her Foster Home, which usually results in her getting batted, and she responds to that well, never getting upset with the older cat. She hasn't played with her Foster Family's daughter yet because she doesn't realize her own strength and needs to learn how to play gently. Roxy could use some leash training but she's petite so she's not hard to handle. She loves going for long walks, which is a great way to bond with her, and she enjoys car rides as long as she can snuggle somebody. She still gets a little nervous when she goes somewhere but behaves very well in public.
Roxy will be a wonderful addition to a Family who is patient and understanding of her past, who will give her love & stability and show her how wonderful the world can be!
